Molihua Dance Troupe
The Molihua Dance troupe performs a blend of contemporary and traditional Chinese dance routines using fans, drums, hoops, ribbons, etc. Since 1986, the group has performed at various regional multicultural events as well as interstate at the Bendigo Easter Festival and overseas at Cairns’ sister city, Zhanjiang.
CADCAI community dance classes are held on Saturday mornings, 10:30am-11:30am at FNQ Dance Academy.
The current dance teacher is Miss Nicola Lim, who teaches dance at Cairns State High School. She has a wealth of experience teaching young students, and in her short time with CADCAI is already working on her 5th performance piece with the dance troupe. The first piece, The Water Dance, debuted at the Cairns Show. The 5th piece, a traditional silk fan dance, will be ready for Chinese New Year 2026.
By engaging a professional instructor, CADCAI has instituted a per term charge per student. This charge is to cover the cost of a teacher, practice space, new costumes, practice shirts, etc.
Suitable for children from 8 years and over. New students are welcome.
