Cairns Chinese culture and heritage centre
This year, a long-held dream of Cairns’ Chinese community is finally coming true. CADCAI will build Queensland’s first Chinese Culture and Heritage Centre (CCHC) — a place where stories, traditions, and memories spanning generations will be honoured and shared.
Located in Greenslopes Street, opposite the tranquil Centenary Lakes and Chinese Friendship Gardens, the Cairns Chinese Culture and Heritage Centre (CCCHC) will be a vibrant cultural hub — home to exhibitions, performances, education programs, and the nationally significant Lit Sung Goong Temple collection. It will be a space for celebration, learning, and connection — a legacy for future generations.
But this is more than a building. It’s a response to a critical need.
There is an urgent demand for a climate-controlled facility to protect the Lit Sung Goong (列圣宫) Heritage Collection — one of the most intact Chinese temple collections from Southern China. The Centre will also provide desperately needed space for multicultural groups in Cairns — for meetings, performances, and equipment storage. It will offer a new cultural tourism experience, especially as Chinese visitors return to the region.
We need your support to make this dream a reality.
CADCAI warmly invites you to contribute to this landmark project through a tax-deductible donation. Your generosity will help preserve our shared heritage, support community wellbeing, and create a lasting cultural legacy for Cairns and Far North Queensland.
